Presented by LightnUp Inc, the team behind the much‑loved Lismore Lantern Parade, Heart Light invites artists, students and everyday creatives to turn trash into treasure and literally wear their art. The Heart Light Wearable Art Workshop will take place at Lismore Regional Gallery on Saturday 2 May from 10.00am - 2.00pm.
In this workshop you will design and create an outfit made from upcycled materials that will be illuminated and integrated with lights. You just need to provide a base garment, dress, skirt, top or pants, and any trash and treasures you have collected! LightnUp will provide lots of fun ‘trash and treasures’, and fairy lights to create your ‘artwork’. Plus, of course we will bring lots of hot glue and stuff!!
You are invited (not compulsory) to don your finished garment and hop up onto the catwalk at the Heart Light Wearable Art Awards Gala at the Star Court Theatre on 18 June, and go into the draw to win $500. And of course, we would love you to join the Lismore Lantern Parade on Saturday 20 June.
The theme for the Wearable Art Awards and Gala is: Jurassic World; The Elements; Trash and Treasure and Myths and Legends.
This will be so much fun, the workshop is suitable for adults or young people over 16yrs.
$15.00 per person. Book you place today.
