Hugh Nicholson was a key figure in the Terania Creek Protest. In 1974 he and his partner, Nan, moved to land they had purchased adjoining the Whian Whian State Forest, close to where the logging was planned. You will hear Hugh’s personal story of the Terania Creek Protest and the events that took place to secure the future of The Nightcap National Park. Hugh comes from the perspective of someone who knows and loves the land. His extensive botanical knowledge and interests grew out of understanding that forest, and building a strong argument to save it.
