AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASSES AT LISMORE REGIONAL GALLERY
Term 2
May to June 2019

Lismore Regional Gallery is very excited to announce that Jennifer Collins of spinningjenny :: art with a twist will be running after school art classes at Lismore Regional Gallery starting Feb 2019. Classes will run for 8 weeks starting week 2 of NSW first school term.

PROGRAM OUTLINE :: CREATIVE ACRYLICS
Focus on developing painting skills using the acrylic paint medium. Traditional aspects will be covered, such as the French Impressionist techniques of capturing light. These new skills will then be explored in a contemporary context. Other skills and areas of interest include palette knife painting, non-objective representations and exploring abstraction. Both groups will experiment with a variety of supports including canvas, paper and cardboard. Materials include acrylic paint, canvas, cardboard, paper, brushes, palette knives, collage, coloured pencils.
*Primary aged children will use a wider variety of media and resource materials to experiment and play; with a focus on exploring their identity through artmaking.
*The teens will focus more intently on the still life genre using traditional painting practices and re-contextualising these into self-directed learning projects.
